Cadet Milestones

 

Cadet 4th Class (C4C) - a/k/a Freshman Year (cadets are called Doolies or 4 Degrees)

  • In Processing - the designated day you report for duty at the United States Air Force Academy.   In Processing Video

  • BCT (Basic Cadet Training) - tests the cadets physically and mentally. Lasts approximately 6 weeks. BCT Video

  • Acceptance Day - when cadets successfully complete BCT, officially welcomed into the cadet wing and transitioned into their new squadrons. A-Day Video

  • Recognition - an annual tradition that takes place over three days in mid-March, when new recruits get taken to task both physically and mentally. Cadets are finally "recognized" as upperclass cadets and allowed to wear  the Prop and Wings insignia on their flight caps. Recognition Day Video

 

Cadet 3rd Class (C3C) - a/k/a Sophomore Year (cadets are called 3 Degrees)

  • Commitment - at the end of the C3C year, cadets must make a decision to commit to the Armed Forces

 

Cadet 2nd Class (C2C) - a/k/a Junior Year (cadets are called 2 Degrees)

  • Commitment Dinner -a formal ceremony to recognize cadets renewed commitment to the Armed Forces

  • Ring Dance - one of the most prestigious dances in the country, the junior class receives their class rings which signifies their becoming seniors. Ring Dance Video

 

Cadet 1st Class (C1C) - a/k/a Senior Year (cadets are called Firsties)

  • 100 Days - approximately 100 days until graduation, Firsties receive their base assignments at the 100's Night Celebration. 100's Night Video

  • Graduation - No explanation needed! Video
